The backpack tag that calls you when someone finds it

Kids lose things. PhoneTag is a small smart tag for the backpack, and whoever finds it can start a private live video call with you in one scan. They need no app, and your phone number is never shown.

How it works

Every PhoneTag carries a unique QR code. When a teacher, bus driver, or stranger finds the lost backpack, they point their phone camera at the tag. A private video call to you opens right in their browser. You see who found it, they hear where to bring it, and the backpack comes home the same day instead of sitting in a lost and found bin until June.

If you cannot answer, the finder can leave a voice or text message that reaches your phone right away. You can also turn on an AI receptionist that answers for you, asks where the item is, and sends you the summary.

Why not just write your name and number on it?

Two reasons. A visible name lets any stranger call your child by name, which safety organizations specifically warn against, and a visible phone number is public to everyone who walks past the backpack, forever. PhoneTag shows neither. The tag identifies the item without revealing anything about your family, and the connection only exists for the moment someone is actually trying to return it. The tag attaches to backpack straps, jackets, lunchboxes, and water bottles, and it comes in Sky, Blush, Mint, and Lavender so each kid can have their own.
