A PhoneTag holds no name, no phone number, no address. Scanning one starts a request to a parent, and hands the parent a log of who’s asking. Here’s exactly how that works.
Your child is never exposed.
A tag shows nothing about your child or your family. No name, no number, no address, no account details. A scanner learns only that the tag can reach someone. Your phone number stays private through every call.
The scanner is the visible one.
Every scan is logged with its time, location, and device, and shown to you. That includes scans that never rang your phone. Nobody touches your child’s tag without you knowing, and we tell scanners so, right on the scan page.
You control every call.
Calls connect only when you accept. You see where the scan happened before answering, your camera and microphone stay off unless you turn them on, and declining hands the visitor to our assistant, not to your child.
One tap to block. One tap to report.
Block anyone from a call’s page. Blocked scanners just see “no one is available”. They’re never told they were blocked, so there’s nothing to work around. Reports go to a human on our safety team, with the full scan log attached.
Harassment is stopped automatically.
Repeat scans are throttled before they reach you: the same scanner can’t ring you over and over, a declined call stays declined, and no tag can be made to ring endlessly by anyone. Persistent abuse triggers an automatic block: you get one calm notification, not a buzzing phone.
Pause any tag, instantly.
If a tag ends up in the wrong hands, one switch takes it out of service. Scans of a paused tag simply say the tag isn’t active.
Your data stays yours.
Accounts belong to adults. Children never create accounts or share personal information. Calls are encrypted in transit. We never sell your data. Abuse forensics are preserved and shared with law enforcement on lawful request.
